The Bodies Central Nervous System (CNS)
The CNS is the control center of the body and includes:
- Brain:Â The brain processes and interprets sensory information, controls movement, and regulates bodily functions. It is the center for thought, emotion, memory, decision-making, and complex cognitive functions like problem-solving and creativity.Â
- Spinal Cord: The spinal cord acts as a communication highway, transmitting signals between the brain and the rest of the body. It manages reflex actions, like automatic responses to pain, and coordinates complex motor patterns, supporting everything from simple movements to intricate tasks.
Peripheral Nervous System (PNS)
The PNS connects the CNS to the rest of the body and is divided into two main components:

Somatic Nervous System: This system controls voluntary movements and relays sensory information to the CNS. It consists of nerves that connect to the skin, sensory organs, and skeletal muscles.
